I am a licensed clinical social worker practicing in Washington DC. I have a BA in psychology from Boston University and an MSW from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. I grew up in Silver Spring, MD and currently live in Washington DC.
My Background
Upon entering college, I knew I wanted to major in psychology. I left there assuming I would go to graduate school at some point, and began working in a group home and then independent living program with chronically mentally ill adults. After a few years of doing this important work, I was ready to go back to school and really liked the social justice component of a social work degree. In graduate school, I did field placements at Suburban Hospital’s Partial Hospitalization Program and at a Baltimore City Public School for students who were struggling emotionally. I worked primarily with kids for several years in a residential treatment program in DC and in DC
Public and Charter schools before starting a private practice in 2013. While having a part time private practice, I continued to do some consulting work with organizations and local universities. I was a Field Liaison at the National Catholic School of Social Work and worked at the Counseling Center at Catholic University, seeing undergraduate and graduate students for therapy. I worked part time for four and a half years at Georgetown University Law Center, providing therapy to law students. Shifting to full time private practice in June of 2020, I now see adolescents and adults for individual psychotherapy. I have also recently begun working as a Psycho-Social Educator in the Practice of Medicine class at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Science.
